Dominant Goose Woodworking publishes practical woodworking guides, tool news and the development of our own jigs and templates. The business operator is responsible for the material we publish.
Practical guides
Guides explain workshop decisions using linked primary sources and original analysis. They distinguish documented specifications from our interpretation and physical evidence. A sourced explanation is not a claim of hands-on testing. We identify limits, avoid unsupported rankings and link related reading. Publication dates identify when sources were checked; material updates receive a correction or revision note.
Tool news
News roundups use linked sources, preferably the maker’s original announcement, product page or manual, with Canadian retailers used for local price and availability. Specifications and performance claims are attributed to the source. Prices carry a currency and reflect the dated source; availability, specifications and prices can change.
Our tool news is source reporting. We say when a tool has not been in our shop. We do not present a maker’s claim as our own test result, invent hands-on experience or assign ratings without the supporting physical evidence. Follow the tool’s own manual and safety instructions.
Our projects and physical evidence
A CAD render shows model geometry. It is labelled separately from a real build photo. Design studies and prototypes are not treated as tested products, and their fabrication downloads and print orders are withheld. Published projects require an independent engineering review; a passed review or software check does not prove physical performance.
Tested status requires a real build photo and recorded physical test evidence for that revision. Verified status also requires measurements. Known blockers and material limitations belong on the project page. The retained Maple Bench Supports design review is explicitly blocked and has no fabrication release.
Preparation and review
AI tools may assist research and drafting. They do not establish physical test results or replace the operator’s review and publication decision. Sources, claims, dates and project status must be checked before publication.
Corrections
Send the page address, the disputed detail and supporting evidence to [email protected]. We check the evidence, correct material errors on the affected page and identify substantial corrections so readers can see what changed. Contact details.
Commercial relationships
Our current tool-news coverage has no affiliate links or paid placement. Nobody pays to appear in a roundup. Any future change to that policy must be disclosed clearly before affected coverage is published.
If display advertising is activated, ads will be identified separately from editorial content. Advertisers will not buy inclusion, favourable conclusions or control over our editorial decisions. Advertising will not turn source reporting into a hands-on review.
